Enoch-in' on Heavens Door

Have you ever heard of a man named Enoch?

Chances are most people haven't, so why do I bring him up? What is so special about this guy if no one has heard anything about him?

Well if you have never heard about him let me give you some background:

Genesis 5: 21-24  "When Enoch had lived 65 years, he became the father of Methuselah.  After he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked faithfully with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters.  Altogether, Enoch lived a total of 365 years.  Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away."

He was the great grandfather of Noah, his son was the oldest person to ever live and the most impressive part of his life is that he is one of two people to ever have made it to heaven without dying. (Elijah being the second)

Now Hebrews 11:5 tells us that he didn't see death and had a life that pleased God, and Jude 14-15 show us that he was a prophet of God. He even told of the coming of Christ long before the book of revelation was ever written.

So why do I bring him up? I bring Enoch up because he is a man that is a hero of his faith, not because he was super showy, not because he never made a mistake but because he was always knocking on heavens door so he could go for a walk with God.

It has made me think; when I die will my testimony have pleased God?
